Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy at American Enterprise Institute (AEI)
Nicholas Eberstadt holds the Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy at AEI, where he researches and writes on demographics, economic development, and international security. His books include Men Without Work (2016); Russia’s Peacetime Demographic Crisis (2010); The Poverty of the ‘Poverty Rate’ (2008); The End of North Korea (1999); Foreign Aid and American Purpose (1988); and Poverty in China (1979). His latest book is America’s Human Arithmetic (2025). He has served as consultant or adviser for various units in the US government. In 2012, he was awarded the Bradley Prize, and he received AEI’s Irving Kristol Award in 2020. His PhD, MPA, and AB are from Harvard University and his M.Sc. is from LSE.
